Weekend Drivers

Let me set the stage for you. It's Saturday morning. Bright sunshine after a couple of days of miserable weather. I have gotten up early, had breakfast and I am driving down to the gym for a workout. I am looking forward to the day, because we have a full slate of rugby games scheduled, that although I am not playing in (my rib is still giving me trouble) I get to watch. In the span of 4 blocks the following 3 things happen (no joke):

#1 Old man driving a large family car cuts me off, then he hits the breaks so he can make a left turn. I hammer the breaks, squeal the tires and avoid an accident.

#2 An older lady... I am guessing 85ish because of her snow-white hair goes to make a right turn, when I am driving straight, and I have green light. Again, I hammer the breaks and avoid an accident.

#3 As I approach the intersection, i see a women who is walking her dog. I notice the dog is not on a leash. The dog jumps off the street and onto the road. I hammer the breaks, again, and squeal the tires, again, and narrowly avoid an accident again. The thing that pushes me over the edge this time is that the women stares at me with this look of disgust because I almost mangled her dog. I start with the choice profanities and work my up.

Why are people so stupid. This flood of testosterone is great for my workout however, and I leave the gym 2 hours later feeling really refreshed. And then we had a great day of rugby. Kingston didn't win a single game, which sucked, but it was a great day.

Stay Frosty
