Wow... I am not sure if I have ever been so busy in my life. There has been so much going on, and not enough time to write about any of it.
Donna's Mom left last week, and it was an exciting time while she was here. She accomplished so much it is unbelievable, probably because she doesn't waste her time doing things like writing on a blog. I could write the list of all the things she accomplished for us, but I am not sure it would all fit on the space Blogspot gives me. Let's just say that I didn't cook or clean anything for 3 weeks. We have a freshly painted bedroom and banister, as well as several other touch-ups around the house. Our garage is no longer used for just storage, we can fit a car in it. She went to a wedding, took Donna shopping, and made us a turkey dinner the day before she left. Oh yes, and we will have a fully planted bed of flowers next year. I wish I had half the energy she has.
Work has been busy, as the kids are back into school full swing, and have begun to realize once again that they may need to work a little bit on their own in order to experience success. If you don't realize what you can accomplish with a little hard work, read the previous paragraph. My students this year are all great kids, and I am looking forward to the rest of the semester.
Rugby has been awesome lately. After the draw at Western, a few weeks ago, the Queen's kids have really buckled down, refocused, and are determine to win the rest of the games they have. Case in point: this weekend we managed to crush cross-town rival RMC (Canada's Royal Military College) 90-20 in the Varsity match, and a closer but not closer 33-12 in the second match of the day, pitting a combination of our 4th and 5th teams against their second squad. Yes folks, Queen's rugby is deep and pretty good. Despite some suspect officiating in the second game, it was a beautiful day of rugby, as the sun and fans were both out in abundance. I am totally looking forward to the last few games of the season, as we push towards making another final appearance.
Donna has been good. She has been working a lot recently, thanks to a presentation that she had to make, and an upcoming conference that she is attending in Chicago. Between my work/driving schedule, her work schedule, rugby, and her other stuff, we haven't seen much of each other lately. It's been tough as I am gone to work before she gets home/wakes-up, then she goes to work before I get home from rugby or I have already gone to bed. Hopefully we get to see some of each other this week, as she is finishing a string of 9 shifts in a row. I mean its not like we haven't seen enough of each other... we just celebrated our 8th year together yesterday...by enjoying a home-cooked meal and bed by 10:00pm.
And for those of you who are wondering, my Dad is back in the hospital fighting an infection or two or three. Things are looking better though. Thanks for all the help/support from everyone.
Hope to post again soon... if this hectic lifestyle changes.
