Who does the hiring for the Government?

Technically, I guess, I am a government employee. Because education funding comes from the government, you the tax payer pays my salary. But let's face it, I am not really a government employee, employed by a government agency (Provincial or Federal, we don't have time, or space to talk about most municipal workers - aka. Luke and Peter).

Now, when I talk about a group of people, I generalize. It is entirely impossible not to, and it is not really proper because there are plenty of people who do not fit into the category I create. But sometimes, ineptitude is so vast, I can't help myself.

We got a letter, telling Donna and I that we might have to take part in a survey from Statistics Canada on employment. Fine. They said they would let us know if we had too. Then we get another letter asking us why we weren't home when they came by to interview us, and what would be an appropriate time. Did I mention they came by at 2:00 in the afternoon, when most people are working? Then we got another, similar note asking us the same thing. Funny how the government would send someone around to interview people when they are clearly at work.

I guess that answers the first question as to whether or not we are employed. I don't blame the person coming around to our house. But I have to ask myself: "What is his boss thinking?" and "Why am I smarter than he/she is?"

Also had a good weekend of rugby. Played in the Alumni game to start the day (we stopped counting after we outscored them 13 tries to nil, although they did get one). Then our 2nds demolished Ottawa's 1sts 33-3 (they hit a drop goal with like 5 minutes left... so dumb. That's like cheering about pulling a splinter out of your hand when your other hand is being cut off). Our thirds then won a nail biter 18-17 after 4 lead changes and a game winning try on the last play of the game. After the game we heard that our Varsity team had beaten Mac too. Awesome day for rugby.

Finally, does anyone know what I should get for Donna for her birthday? Leave a post and tell me.
