Donna also did the Beat Beethoven 8km run today. It is a really cool event where the symphony comes down to the waterfront, puts on a free concert and plays Beethoven's 3rd Symphony. It takes them 50:00 to play it, so the objective is to run the 8km in less than 50 minutes. It was a great day and it looked like everybody had a good time. Donna didn't quite beat Beethoven; she ran it in 53 minutes.
Donna and Charisse just before the run.
Last week we did a little shopping too. Donna and I got a new fridge and stove for our house... and we got a great deal to boot. Thanks Mr. and Mrs. Lee!!! The Brick discount card is awesome, and we will probably go back to get a few other things we need as well. Still looking for a giant TV as well.
Kingston won their first game this season yesterday as well. The Ottawa Irish came down to play us and despite several warnings of thunderstorms and heavy rain, it was a great day and the rain held-off until the last 5 minutes. We had a to play a lot of tough defence, but it was a great character win for us at the same time. After getting up 14-0 at half and 19-0 early in the second-40, we had to play about 35 minutes of straight defence. It was a good game, and I scored a sweet try; the first time I have ever been able to actually run the ball in untouched on the outside and job it in between the posts. It felt pretty good, especially deking the winger out of his shorts.
Defensive Line-out.
I never realized who freakishly large my calves are until I see them in pictures.
I have some good shots of Donna and me in Oshawa as well.
Donna and her friend Dharini in Oakville after dinner.
Donna and I after a nice walk in Port Perry.
Have a good week.
