Everybody is good at somethings and not good at other things. I am really not good at being handy around the house. I would be more likely to burn down my house than be able to fix simple things, like a broken vacuum cleaner. At least that is what I thought from past experiences.
Turns out I can fix a broken vacuum cleaner. Donna was vacuuming the other day and smoke started to poor out of it. She shut it off, told me it was broken, and we left it for a few days. I took it apart, and noticed a couple of things:
#1) The belt had been melted through and was completely useless. I assumed this was good because the motor was most likely still working.
#2) There was enough hair wound around the rollers and brushes to knit a small tapestry out of. I actually had to chisel some it out with a screw driver, since hair becomes a crusty mass when exposed to high amounts of friction.
I went to the store, got a new belt, and proceeded to reassemble the vacuum cleaner. Low and behold, it runs and more importantly still picks-up dirt.
Amazingly enough, it also seems possible that I can fit into a medium rugby jersey. I know it seems impossible, but due to a ridiculous ordering error, the Kingston Rugby Club managed to order a brand new set of jerseys, all sizes too small. There is probably a junior women's team out their that couldn't all fit into these jerseys. Let's just say that it was an uncomfortable first game, and there may or may not be video footage of me running around the field with my jersey at midsection, perhaps the first ever player to look like they are wearing a crop-top. Apart from the fact that this looked frightening, I had some sever breathing issues.
18 more days of actual classes. Fingers and toes people, were down to fingers and toes.
